What is your favorite frame? What is it that makes it your favorite? The style? Quality? Innovation?

I find myself partial to the Flightliner because of the way the twin tube set up just has a flow that draws me in.

Here is mine

Man, I've been jonesing for so long for one of those late 30s Monark Silver King Duralium frames with the fat frame joints where the aluminum frame tubes slide into. For whatever reason I've always wanted one of those and hope to land one soon enough. To be honest though, I don't know enough about them to know if they all used the hex tubing but I really think that's pretty cool looking.

i cant find a picture of it but they had frames made of fiberglass real futuristic looking cruisers

I would have to say the prewar late 30's straight bars and the DX

...still sad for having to sell it, but at least it went to a fellow RR builder.

...one day I'll finish this one...just love those rear dropouts.

I saw a womans model one of these at a swap meet recently. I wish I grabbed it since it was a frame for something like $15 but it needed serious welding work. The non-drive side seat stay and chain stay snapped off (clean break, but no way I could weld it).

My favorite frame (to date) would have to be the ones used on the Monarks of the mid 40's - early 50s. I think these look good with or without a tank and have (to me) just the right amount of curve in the top and bottom tubes. I also like the 'wishbone' look of the seatstays and chainstays. The only thing missing (again for me) would be rear facing back dropouts.

its hard for me to pick my favorite vintage frame because there are so many I love. So im going to post a modern frame. I think Electra hit it out of the park when they made this frame. They got so many different bikes from this one and its really comfy to ride(I dont have one, but i rode a friends)

Agreed, for 'modern' manufacturers, Electra is my favorite. A Google search on the RockaBilly Boogy in primer red is the bike that led me to this site.

Great thread idea.

I like the chrome Laguna cruiser. The combination of straight lines (downtube, rear stays) and curves (top tube) is really interesting, and there's no extra nonsense to the structure. I could even do without the two holes drilled in the dropouts...

I also like the Dayton LaFrance, because it's just so classy! I love everything about the bike, but particularly how the rear stays flow out to meet the rear fender.
