I cruise the alleys all the time looking for bikes/parts/junk and there is this one house with a Schwinn Exercycle that I always ride past waiting to see the owner out in the yard so I can ask for it. Anyway, this morning, the Exercycle was still in the backyard, no owners around, so I kep cruising. A few alleys away I turned a corner and found this layed down by the trash can.

I was excited, went to pick it up and throw it on the hitch-haul on the Jeep and almost threw out my back! The flywheel on this thing must weigh 50 pounds... wow. Everything operates really well, and it has some cool parts. Large offset chainring, strong chain, nice freewheel, good seat, smooth crank and bearings, and a tachometer! Sweet, I was going to try to put an electronic tach on my build off bike, but this is much cooler.

NIce,I have found a few of those, great 52 tooth. The sprocket is always rusty inside and the teeth shinny! I used one on this bike and it worked perfect for clearing the frame because its stepped out.looks like ya got some Schwinn or union pedals on there too, good find.

Yep, same chainring. I'm still going after that Schwinn Exercycle for the REALLY big sprocket, but for now I thought this one looked really cool.

What is F.Y.B?

That's what I was thinking it was, just didn't want to assume the worst, turns out, it was already the worst! haha

Those cross block pedals with the straps are cool!

Yeah, when I went home for lunch I sat on the bike and the straps fit my feet well. There is a weight on the bottom of the pedal that keeps the strap facing up for easy entry. I may just use these on my build off bike. I'm going to have to measure the crank arms, they look longer than normal.
