Here's a bash-ring I made from a sheet of aluminum, a jig saw, & a drill press

they make it so complicated
Simple: measure the exact distance (center to center) between 2 adjacent bolt holes. Then find that number on the correct chart below to determine the BCD for your chainring.

Lol I don't know how I figured it out either.

It's sbeen fiddled with a bit, the v brakes are not original. Did it come with all those pieces? Syncros bar, probably Syncros Cattleprod stem, doesn't look like their seatpost, they used a funky clamp.

They're good stuff, Canadian company (made in Taiwan by that point), got bought out by GT in the mid 90s

1992 was a fantastic year for Rocky Mountain, one of their best. That sticker above the BB might just indicate that it was welded here in Canada, also might be able to tell by the direction the serial number runs across the BB shell.
Experience was the bigger, badder elevated stay bike by them that year. They built it up as a burly woods bike, as opposed to the Stratos, which was the lighter xc machine. If it's the original fork, that's a great thing, it'd be a Tange BigFork.

Oh wow! I printed that same diagram and went on a wild goose chase looking for a 5 bolt 96 BCD chainring. No such thing. That is an error. The 5 bolt labeled 96 should actually be 94. The diagram is wrong.

Wanna trade? I might have something you'd want...Maserati, Follis, KHS, Raleigh frame? I could rescue that "one of a kind" Tony Hawk freestyle bike from the trash pile......let me know...:giggle:

Sorry Ig, that bike is way too big for you. But I know a guy...
Naw, check out the space between where the tubes meet at the head tube, and the point where the top tube would intersect with the back tire if extended, that's a medium. Too small for you, I'll handle this for him
