First bike of the new year for me

Picked this up from Vintage Bike Coroner on here headbadge says Westfield and serial number is M143518 yhe only thing I could come up with is it might be a 48 but I'm not really sure I started stripping the red paint off to find that it was originally dark blue and maybe Ivory

Also picked up a set of new Schwinn tandem handlebars from a lbs

It's a '48 for sure. Nice find, I've always liked the look of Westfield/Columbia frames. I've got a '48 Columbia myself.

Allen at Tom Sawyer said they were for the back on the new tandems he has them in stock along with the other new Schwinn bars in either black or chrome

i have the exact same frame the was badged as a jc higgins. its a great frame.
