Fixing beach cruiser seat

Im having an issue with my seat after having a big buddy ride my bike the seat won't stay locked in place. it keeps tilting backwards or forwards no matter how much I tighten the bolts any advise on a fix?

your seat clamp might be messed up from where it holds in place.There are some indentations on the clamps that when squeezed together hold the seat in a certain postion.

you may just have to get a new seat clamp. you could take it off and try to clean up some of the ribs with a file, or saw (clean them out, dont cut them) but i doubt that would do much. :?

Also, make sure the seat stem in inserted all the way in the seat clamp. If it's only halfway it might not be letting it tighten up.
