Heres a little trick I picked up from an old bike mechanic, since the area I live in has a epidemic of goatheads, so now everytime I change a tube I take an old tube and cut off the stem then stuff it into the tire before I put the new tube in and make sure its really wet to give some movement when airing it back up. I have had great luck doing this and it beats the heck out of dealing with Slime.
