๐Ÿ…ต๐Ÿ…พ๐Ÿ…พ๐Ÿ…ป๐Ÿ…ธ๐Ÿ…ถ๐Ÿ…ฐ๐Ÿ…ฝ - 1930s Elgin Oriole

Here is FOOLIGAN, my entry for Build Off 19 (my 14th build off in a row). It started as a rusty crusty 1930s Elgin Oriole. The frame, seat, and fender are all original with their natural 90 year old finish.
Then I added:

  • 1950s Evanaction springer fork (which I painted to match the natural paint on the frame).
  • 1960 Columbia Fire Arrow bugeye tank with working push button bell
  • Project 346 three speed shifter custom mounted into the tank with B&M shifter handle
  • Custom handlebars that were gifted to me by OddBall (OCDConnection) when I visited him in London in 2022. He welded these up from gas pipe. Custom mount mirror as well.
  • MOONEYES Moon Discs
  • Schwinn Aerovane 26x3 fat tires
  • Custom drop out extensions made from OCC dropouts to extend the fat wheelset back far enough to clear the frame
  • 1930s Elgin Fender Kilt Guards (formerly skirt guards on a ladies Elgin)
  • 1960s Evans chainguard
  • Rat Fink headbadge
  • Rat Fink head as frame ornament
  • Custom Floating Hot Wheels Sammich panel behind seat tube
  • Vintage 1920s pair of glass jeweled fender lights
  • Vintage STOP reflector given to me by my friend Lee Pua when I visited his bike shop in Manila Phillipines
  • Monark chainring
  • Torrington pedals
  • Thomson ball end grips

Did you hire someone to stand with the bike? I was really hoping your avatar was you! Awesome documentation and happy to see (correct me if mistaken) that extending rear dropouts can be mechanically fastened and not braised or welded.

WOOOOOOOOOO! Sorry man, I'm just the naytcha boy in my mind. :D
I built those dropouts based on what I've learned fromothers that have done it here on RRB over the years. They've worked out great with no issues.
