You are paying for the name on that listing, I now people who used to buy those and now they just have a bunch of over priced baskets they cant resale for even close to what they spent.

Longabergers are the beanie babies of the basket world. :p

My girl friend has a bunch of Longaberger baskets. I was shocked when she told me how much she paid for them. Some were over $500 !!

Here's two of them I put on one of her rides...

Who are we to judge though?
We are grown men and women spending money and playing with old rusty bikes. :p

Years ago my wife was a Longeberger rep. She became one so she could get the baskets cheaper. Her mom and my mom bought a few too, and friends would invariably get baskets as gifts.

We had lots of baskets lying around in the garage until I cried "uncle" and got permission to sell them. I Ebay'd them, and they sold for reasonable amounts, but we didn't have anything considered collectable or rare.... like I'm assuming that basket was? That's insane.

So show us a link of what you did get? I'm going to get the wife a basket to match a basket for the daughter's bike.

Dr T, You might be interested in this. Google- Longaberger Flyer Tie On . Nice thick metal, looks like a headbadge. I picked one up on ebay for $6.99 to mount on a Nantucket basket from LLBean. ( for my Western Flyer )

Just tell any of our friends , family , and co-workers what we spent on a bike ( or parts ) and I'm sure we'd get the same reaction
