Well I started with this

Then I changed a few things and went to this. Black rear rim and a Bendix two speed and black grips.

Then a friend of mine bought a powder coating shop and I made the best of it. I am planning on commuting with this bike I live in a high traffic area so I went to disk brakes and a nexus inter eight. The nexus inter eight I bought broken for $25 on eBay. I called Arron's bicycle shop in Seattle and told him what I found wrong he sent me the parts and every thing I needed to put it together for $89 So I came out ahead. I had some spokes laying around that fit and I bought the rims at a local bicycle shop for $30 ea. The brooks saddle I found at a flea market for $75. I ordered the disk brake kit from chain gang lowrider $65 shipped and got some used dia comp levers on ebay for $25. the front hub is a us cycles and I think I paid $35 The powder color is flat brick red from eastwood and my friend was kind enough to do the powder coating for $50. All in all I spend way more then this thing will ever be worth lol. The last thing I am waiting on is a friend of mine at work is doing some custom art work on the chain guard and I can't wait to see how it turns out. Here are the pics so far.

Thanks, I think it will make the ride home easier after a long day.

Thanks, I thought the pain on the springer would make it look like it belonged on the bike rather than an after thought. I went with a flat color so it would still look like and old bike and not something from wall mart (no offense!). I know I spent some money but It was a budget build. I did every thing I could to keep the cost down. Routing the cables internally was a challenge, but it worked. I am glad to see that you guys like it :D . I can't wait to see what the chain guard will look like when my buddy is done with it.

cool biuld in deed! how do you like the operation of the inter 8spd? is it a twist shift or thumb?

The inter 8 is great, I use a thumb shift. I can realy go any where I want to with it.

If you really want to make your ride home easier get some high pressure balloon tires like Bontrager Hanks. With 75 lbs of pressure, you'll think you're riding a road bike. Gary

Really? I think I may half to put a set on order. I guess with the higher pressure you get more efficiency out of pedaling. I like the fact that they have a satisfaction grantee.

Well the hanks where to tight a fit for this frame so I went with serfas drifters for a lbs. The fit great and the ride is awsome. Big difference thanks for the idea that make my commute even better.
