does anyone make either a frame or a complete bike bigger than usual? I'm 6'1" and almost all my regular framed cruisers require me to raise the seat way up, but I don't ever remember seeing a cruiser with a bigger frame...

I guess you just can't expect a cruiser to feel like a road bike. I'm 6' 1" and I just add a lay back seat post for a BMX bike.

a few companies made "tall mans"frames. somebody just ran across a colson tall frame on here recently! :) ive got a 30`s badged cadillac, built by shelby, that is a single bar tall mans frame.most all the dimensions are 1-1/2"longer.

Yep, I recently got a Colson frame that I think is a 21" compared to the standard 19" model. Mead sold a few Rangers with extra tall frames, and of course Schwinn had the king size American canti frame (rare), and the 22" and 23" Racer/Speedster/Collegiates. I just won a super tall Varsity on ebay that has to be 24 or 5", can't wait to comfortably cruise on that! -Adam

This 36" monster should do the trick!
Code: bc_monm
Price: $499.00

Old fashioned style with quality craftsmanship, classic design and a smooth ride.
This beach cruiser is quite a unique bike. It's the Monster Cruiser bicycle with 36" tires and an old fashioned classic design. You'll feel like a kid again riding the Monster Cruiser bicycle. Don't let this bike's huge, jumbo-sized wheels fool you. It is easy and fun to ride. Tower above your friends as the giant 36 inch wheels give you a true "over the road" feel. It's perfect for casual riding, especially on the beach or in the park.
Some Highlights of Monster Cruiser Bicycle are:

36" front & rear Coker button tread tires
Chrome wheels
Comfortable springer seat
30" handlebars
Rear coaster and front caliper brakes
Available in Red only
The Monster cruisers are large in size and ship in two boxes. We charge a low rate of $40.00 shipping which will pay for part of the shipping costs - we'll cover the rest!

I guess the pic didn't show up, so here you go! In my opinion these bikes are absolutely amazing and I want one cuz I'm 6'4" and what a joy it would be to have a bike they I didn't look like a circus elephant on a tricycle! They would look so cool all ratted out!

i'm not sure those are actually made to fit tall riders, i think they fit regular folks in search of novelty. at least that's what the seat/bar and top tube length look like to me from that pic.... :(

i'd think having the persistence to find a tall schwinn american would be a good bet. also a lot of prewar frames have longish top tubes so even though you'd probably need a machined aluminum post and a fairly tall stem/bar it wouldn't be too cramped in the fore and aft department....... :D

I know my Hawthorne frame seems to fit a bit better than my newer stock. Guess I'll just keep my eyes peeled for a frame deal...

Most older frames (not all) have a slightly longer front loop than current low/medium end frames, makes coming up with suitable bars and seat posts a slightly easier proposition. The arrangement currently on my old beater bike, viewtopic.php?f=6&t=30861 is nearly identical to the setup I had on my 22" framed Mongoose ATB, it's laid back a few degrees at most.

That's what I say

I have 3 3 speeds that are too tall for me. 2 need a lot of work and the 71 Schwinn Racer is all good except the original tires are a little hard. But they are still working, just changed the front tube only. I'll sell any of those.

Note the purple seat of my Schwinn cruiser is at bar height to those 3.
