Got this today from my girlfriends dad, "for free, if i can keep the cranks".
he needs the cranks to restore an old moped.

Very nice s.a. hubs (3 speed rear) and brooks seat, wierd part is the seatstays,
they are 1 piece they connect in a loop over the toptube,
and a lock in the front fork

When I got it and took the shot of it, it was about to turn dark overhere so i didn't look at the number yet.
tomorrow I will take a look for sure, hope I have some time to find some info & dating for it,
been redoing the bathroomceiling today, so tomorow, cleaning and putting stuff back in. and I promised I would clean up and do some welding on my girlfriends bike, so she can carry on with her project.

It's drumbrakes front and back, i probably will use those for my boardtrackbuild wich was on hold for a couple of days.
I like some of the raleigh's too, I think the one Hubgearfreak is doing in the build off " Lincoln green" is a nicer(1982) model than mine( that looks later then that one). I like more bulky looking frames and this is shurely a sporty model the seat stays are very slim.
I think I'll do something funny/simple with it, lost week i found a full suspension mtb in a dumpster, maybe I'll put the weels and drivetrain of that in this frame.

The brooks is a b66 s, i looked up the price for it if you'd had to buy it new, 100,- euros thats about 130,- usd.
I still remember my girlfriends dad saying the other day;
"I got this leather seat that you might like, it has nice chrome springs on it,
oh well if I can keep the cranks you can have the whole bike if you want."
I am espacially thrilled with those sturmey archer hubs.

And if I can I will take a pic of that headbadge that I thought looks awesome, I think it's copper.

I think you shouldn't molest that Raleigh but thats just my opinion, but if you do and don't want the chain guard thing, thats what mines missing, I collect raleighs lol

Hey Hsean,

I fully understand your opinion, but my point of view is that I'm on here because I liked the ratrod thing, and mixing bikeparts and and cutting them up to come up with cool stuff is my idea of ratrodbikes.
Later on I will post some more pic's. the Chainguard thing is a fully enclosed type, I dont think it's typical Raleigh though, my girlfriend had one on a 5 year old "Ranger" bike that I molest recently.
I will post a pic' of it too later so you can decide, there's also some plasticchrome trim missing. from it.
if you like it still i'm willing to let it go just for shippingcosts, (that is from the netherlands!).

Later, Badmuller.

I'll have to pass that up. as much as it looks neat, my Raleighs from the 30's and that plastic would hurt it's feelings lol
