Fresh finds and updated Hawthorne

['48 Hawthorne]

I received this Hawthorne horn tank today, batteries included! I may need a frame for this tank soon!

I went for a ride with the gf along the lake and this girls Cosmic Flyer found its way into my truck on the way home. It was worth it for the springer!

I also got my '50 Hawthorne rolling like a rusty old champ. Put some CST fat city tires on it, apes, NOS taillight, swapped out the sprocket, replaced the pedal blocks and added some flame decals. If it wasn't for a quick phone call and a burn over to HotRodRob's house, my ride would've been dusted due to a stripped handlebar bolt. Thanks again Rob!

It's a blasted and primed original tank, no dents or creases either!

Snagged the fork off the Flyer, which is worth more then what I paid for the whole bike. I swapped out the tires, added a bent springer, and now she goes on kijiji!

Ward's didn't use the red & blue 'crest' badge until 1950. 48-9s had an aluminum badge with a winged H on it. Just sayin' what the catalog pages show. -Adam

48 or 49 for that one. If either are cwc built, 47-49 would have a Cw stamp after the serial, and 50-51 would be ACw. -Adam
