Picked this up at a estate sale this mornings. Brought it home aired up the tires, wiped it down, and went for a ride. I hate it! I like my balloon bikes. LOL. I took the brooks b66 off and slapped on a seat laying around. Came with the owners manual that says copyright 1982. The Brooks should brake me out of the bike and make a little. Then the bike is free. Fun times.

Schwinn made so many huge frames in the 70s. You can hardly find a medium or small size. Americans got tall before other places caught up with us so there seems to be a lot of tall 1970s Schwinn road bike frames around. One of my friends in the 60s was 6'7" and had one of these tall frames. He used to buy size 13 snow pack boots and take the liners out. Now a days thats nothing, my 6'3" friend has 6'7" sons, and they can now get shoes that fit. An old timer like me really notices how common tall people have become since about 1990. I have become an obsolete size, 5'8' and 155 pounds. I never felt like a shrimp until the last 20 years. It's also hard to spot a young woman that looks like they did in 1962 as far a body shape goes. I go weeks before I spot a young woman that is as thin and fit looking as the average 1960 high school girl. Thats why I go to the gym, I see a fit young woman about every other day there. Even the local university woman's basketball team looks tall and flabby to me. For the new norm they will have to make tall bikes with robust frames.

Those were made by panosonic or giant.
They were just as good as any bike from that era

I was not sure if you were clowning and we're going to ask what color my rack is or something.
Maybe a little clowning around.(I don't need to get band from this site) Yeah I cycle tour a lot and sometimes I get rental bikes over in Europe. I have racks that I like a lot (BLACKBURN,TOEPEAK) and some I don't like. There is a rack made in Europe that I never have good luck with I think it's made in Switzerland and I have seen them on Schwinn bikes here in fact at one time I have seen them call "Schwinn Approve".

I have had quite a few of those and get between $10-$20 for them when I sell them. I will let you know when I get one [emoji4]
