Anybody got any idea how you put a front fender on a Hawthorne? it looks like with just the legs moving and not any of the rest of the fork that if you bolt anything in the middle it would tear it off the first time you hit a bump. Does the front fender just float without being hooked on like a colorflo??? and is just hooked to the front axels? Somebody give me a clue please.

I figure someone here has one or will know. Got the fork but not a fender yet

lol...yea that didn't come out quite how I ment it. Ment to say if no one here knows they would over there.

Braces attach to the axle like a regular fork and then a small screw goes through the center of the fender at the top and into a hole at the rear edge of the fork (the bottom part that pivots). The fender moves with the fork. That is the same fork as on the Hawthorne in my avatar.

I saw that little hole at the top in that little builtup part ,but on this one it looks like its filled up on the bottom. Guess I can redrill it. Man looked at this one for and hour and couldndt figure it out. I think the one on that Colorflo floats without being hooked up to anything. I would have to have a microscope to see the one in your avatar. If you have a bigger pic send me one please. Need to see the sprocket and stuff. Thanks paul

Thanks Frank...mine dosent have the hole but God willing and my drill press dosent die ....I will

Checked mine and maybe the bolt broke off really smooth.

you might also look. might be easier to drill from backside of fork, tap and use a L bracket?or drill all the way through and use a screw and nut? just some idea's,
