They actually remarkably tough. I've pulled so many out of barns is crazy. Bike collecting is not as big of thing here in Canada mostly 60 70 muscle bikes which is odd because that was the beginning of the end for CCM

Geometry fun with Matti. I was rearranging the pile and these two sorta Canadians wound up side by each. CCM vs Norco designed Nishi. It's pretty surprising to see the difference. Lined up at the axle, I tried to get the BBs as close as possible
it is surprisingly long and tall, I'd wager that the Schwinn Camel isn't this big.

After that, I got curious, and threw on a pair of 26" steels and a trike fork I had laying around to get a picture in my head

Go wonder around my yard sure you will find one just wear pants in the long grass. Should be ok tick season is over

Chicago Schwinn often made the same model bike in different heights, measured by the seat tube. I have two Travelers with roughly 4 to 6 inches difference in them. My biggest one's top tube is about 36" off the ground with air in the tires (the same as the Nishiki I cut for Kaiju) they're not here or I'd measure them for you. I'll bet the Camel style frame was available in different heights.

That frame is PERFECT! A Camel-style frame is what I saw in my mind as soon as I read the words 'skinny tire build off'. And with those black rims...this is gonna be great!

That's a great looking frame! A vintage big frame to start with, and all that tire clearance, you can go many directions with that. Keep those progress posts and photos coming! RaT oN~!

Looks to be a much bigger frame than any of the Schwinn camel backs i’ve seen.
Ok so I had to go searching the Schwinn catalogs online and found a couple bits of info. 17" frame (crank center to the top of the seat tube) is the biggest camel Schwinn made and their reasoning wasn't style. They used a bent top tube to lower the saddle for shorter riders. Also I could find no camels after 1970. So all you who said the 17" camel was the biggest Schwinn made are correct. Build on @MattiThundrrr, what's up with your bike today?

Same as yesterday, nuttin' much. Been busy with family stuff and harvesting some crops. Might be able to get out this weekend and look for some parts. I need a crank, BB, cups, stem, and pedals. Maybe a bar as well, we'll see how things look
Sounds like you need a donor bike.
A nice girls bike with all the cups, bearings etc in good shape is what I've used more than once.

I've got the perfect candidate, except that she'd kill me if I used her bike for parts. Might be able to get out picking parts this weekend
