http://s1038.photobucket.com/albums/a46 ... ins001.jpg I present for your amusement, a German built JC Higgins. I bought this last week at a estate auction. Paid fifty bucks for it. I has these features......Made in Germany head badge.what looks to be a very early serial number, Three piece crank set and a odd strait lower bar frame that looks Pre-war . Also of note, the swept back seat post bars. How 'bout it? Year...Frame builder... Thanks divcoman47.

Hope you don't mind me posting a few of your pics for you. I tried to put them in the order that you mentioned.

It's a 1956. 4500 is the catalog # for their standard cruiser, made in W. Germany, in the 56 Sears catalog. Apparently there was a strike at Murray, and Sears sourced a lot of their 56 bikes from Stelber. There are also several Monark and Chain Bike Co. (Ross) -built JCH's that are probably from that period.-Adam

I can tell you a crap-load about a Divco milk truck. But I don't know squat about early bikes! Thanks a lot for all of the info. I'm glad I found this forum. You guys/gals rock!. Divcoman47.
