Mom called me from the thrift shop today and found another one for me. I think this bike may have been stolen years ago. It has been stripped and painted black and the serial # is a bit scratched up. I suspect it has had a few upgrades over the years. It has a disc brake, mismatched aluminum rims. Japanese Shimano index shifters. My guess is it is some sort of Varsity but I'm not sure. From what I can make out it looks to be a March 1972 bike. And it is a giant 26" frame. I've only been able to fine one tiny spec of what might have been the original paint and it looks like it might have been emerald green. My hope is that they didn't paint the headtube so i can see the original color. It looks like it has the original puff gumwall tires

looks like a suburban but i think they came with front and back sidepull brakes, schwinn had a pretty big line of steel roadbikes in the 70's with tall frames, could be any number of them.
