Okay, you know that part where I said I was done? Well, I blame Oddjob for making me continue. Well, he had a part in it. Okay, he just made me realize I needed to return the bars to my Monark before it evicerated me in my sleep for stealing it's parts for another bike. Plus I wanted a little more rise, so these bars are 20" tall, whereas the ones on my Monark are 16". Plus gratuitous sunset pics

Those bars are a perfect fit for the vibe you've created! I would submit this photo as your first photo in your Finished Builds thread. The lighting is perfect, and the stance is spot on!

Well done!

I got accosted by a raging Karen last night who got totally bent out of shape that my bike didn't have a kickstand. Like, really, that's the hill you're going to die on today?. I'm glad I saw her coming and took the whole ordeal with a solid art attitude. Listened to her for a solid 20 seconds before screaming "GET AWAY FROM ME". Lol. So, not to appease her, but because I actually want a different kickstand on another bike, I took the opportunity to do something I've wanted for a long time, which is make the foot of the stand out of a wrench

Done. Thanks, if not for the build off,I would have sold the frame early this summer. Glad I kept it!

Ho. Lee. $#!+. I believe I just found out what model Gerty is! I've been comparing photos of Cleveland Welding Company bikes from around 1940, looking for head badges that look anything like what little paint is left on my frame. Most of the photos I've seen are of Roadmaster and All American models. The All American badge is closer to mine. But that frame has a straight down tube. And then this morning, I came across a photo of a 1940 Hawthorne. And everything fits my frame!

I am pretty certain that Hawthorne is one that was made by Snyder. Their house brand was Rollfast.
But I don't believe that is a 1940 model. With that tank and springer, I would put that closer to late 40s or early 50s.
