A new pic of what it looks like now is in one of my lower posts.

Well I always seen this at my uncles place when I went over and it was utterly useless
because where his house was located, so I traded him a mountain bike for this 1972 Supercycle . It apears to be Raleigh built. it resembles a Raleigh Sports. It's in pretty good shape to since it was kept indoors.

In this picture the wheels off. it's currently inside the house ready for cleaning.

Re: Got a 3 speed

neat old 3speed! the chainring tells me it is a royce union or at least royce union buit, as my western flyer 3speed is made in england and has the same chainring. throw on a front wheel and that will be very clean.

Re: Got a 3 speed

It's has the matching wheel. it's on it now and the bike is inside ready for derusting. tires are Raleigh, I figure this is Raleigh built supercycle because the some parts are stamped With Raleigh trademark

Re: Got a 3 speed

It's basicly a Raleigh Sports in almost every way besides the Rear brake brazeons and the front fork and the rims aint the Raleigh kind other then that it looks like one, i'm wondering if I should swap my fenders on my sports and put these. Brown bike with chrome fenders? guess I could put the guard on too lol

Re: Got a 3 speed

if it is a raleigh, then it has a royce union chainring on it. both raleigh, royce union and maye even philips have very similar lookin dropouts and lugs. i have a western flyer british built 3speed with that same chainring and its RU. what the headbadge say?

Re: Got a 3 speed

Theres nothing on the headbadge but name and made in england. maybe all the parts are lies on all these brands and came from one place lol

Re: Got a 3 speed

Remember that Supercycle I found? Well here it is! it looks new now. besides a few scratches it's a great looking ride! I figured i'd show the fruits of my hard work lol

Raleigh used those chainrings on their off brands they aquired over the years, Robin Hood, Triumph etc.
Sheldon Brown has a dropout chart but yeah that's a Raleigh built bike.
Fyi: When I tried using a Raleigh BB shaft with a Royce union Chain ring it wouldn't fit. Slightly different sizes.

Yeah I've stumbled apon the Bottom bracket thing before, i'm not sure what i'll do with this bike now. it looks like a sports but is not one so I wont keep it, i'll just post it for 100$ or 150$ local, i'm sure someone would want it, I just gotta lube the bearing in headtubes.

However! I'd keep it if it said Raleigh sports! lol It's a nice looking bike, I never did like supercycle though, blame their quality bikes they make now.

Yeah my fav offbrand from Raleigh wich was same quality as the sports was Eaton's i'd show a picture of the one I had but it's lost in my photobucket somewhere lol it was a red frame and fork with white fenders and chain guard, a great bike, not sure why I got rid of it.
