I got to really thinking of my old BMX days and looking at all the different designs of frames then it hit me, an idea to make a bike that is 100% adjustable! Also that would be able to fold up and put in a smart car's trunk.

Want a Different length down tube or top tube? .....................It could be 4 wing nuts away.

Want longer chain stays to accommodate larger wheels? .................Simple as pie.

Different dropouts? .....................No need to break out the welder just another few wing nuts.

Want to rake it and make a chopper? ................Just adjust and go.

Grind through your chain stay at the bike park? ..........Bolt in another and keep going!

Outgrow the 20" bike? .........................Grab some wheels and bolt in new chain stays.

This is just a rough sketch but something like this.

Then sell different upgrade parts, longer tubes that would be bolt in, custom dropouts, different steer tubes, seat tubes, chain stay/seat stay tubes, top tubes, exc.

Hmm....looks heavy and expensive, but I like the idea of bolting in different tubes to control reach, rake, ride height, etc... maybe good for an R&D test mule?? Good luck!

Yeah I sometimes come up with just weird ideas and thought I'd share it and get some input. Right now I don't even have a welder so I couldn't make it but I might find a use for the idea later.

There's mtb components already in use that allow such adjustments although maybe not to the degree you're looking for; but Cane Creek and others make head angle adustable headsets, there's bolt-on rear dropouts that are reversible to adjust the rear geometry, I've owned a specialized FSR Enduro that had 4 bolt positions for the rear shock rocker to adjust the geometry from there. The interaction allowed BB height as well as seat angle plus head angle variation over several degrees. Paragon rear dropouts are sliders that allow virtual chainstay length adjustment.

I'd like to see one that had adjustable rear spacing and fork rake along with what you already have. Imagine being able to go as wide as you want out back and change the stance of the bike as well.

Very interesting. I bet you played a lot of the video game, Pack Man, in your youth.

I could see this idea appealing to some people. Someone can share their bike with someone of a different size. Similar to memory seat settings in a car.

A little but not as much as you'd think, I was always outside working on bikes, I lived in the garage by choice.....
