I'm not a fan of riding drop bars, so decided to build a set of multiple hand position bars as a gravel bike alternative to drops.
Had a little time to kill today, so why not get some welding practice.
Cut a few sets of bars for material, then welded them together, in a fashion inspired by some of the creations by surly etc.
The rearward sections are at 65 degrees, and 160mm long. Allowing plenty room for levers and grips

Longer stem is more suited

Planning to use this bike for a future gravel bike build. So back into storage for later.

Looks good. I modified a cheap 80s set.

Too square, too deep, too narrow, so I clamped them in the vice and rotated the drop portion out and up. One side first, then the other to keep them symmetrical. Then I flared out the bottom hand location. It's not completely perfect yet, but I think they'll be a pretty decent set of modernized steel bars
