Was surfing the Chopperdomes website and caught this.

what a great vid of when Americans made stuff. i bet they showed this to kids in grammer school. Then again, maybe not, after seeing the last part with that commercial :mrgreen:

and check out how they striped fenders back then. Von Dutch don't have jack on those ladies.

Those pinstriping ladies were something. I liked that "jig" they used to roll the fenders under the brush.

That was a cool vid. I suppose it wasn't all apple pie though...I couldn't help but notice that they did chroming in house. I bet nobody back then thought anything at all about the fumes coming off of that stuff. They probably dumped the waste in the river. :? I also noticed that one guy painting the frames without a respirator.... Times sure have changed haven't they?

....of course the manufacturing has left the country too.

Those ladies sure knew how to paint stripes!! I saw a resent documentary on BMW motorbikes not too long ago, and they still got ladies painting the stipes like that in their factory...it actually looked like the exact same ladies! :D
