I cleaned this one up today
a 70 breeze 26"
it had a vintage non schwinn green plaid child seat on it

thanks! I considered putting chrome fenders on it but I think it looks cooler with painted

leave the child seat on mine . that one does look nice with painted fenders...

Anywho it is still a sweet bike. I gotta get off my butt and clean up my collegiate for sale. Any pointers on how you cleaned up the rims?

I use little brass welding brushes i get at the Napa store I work at
if i am inside and cant have stinky wd40 I use a soapy solution and dip the brush in the liquid and scrub
it takes off most of all the rust fairly fast too
it saves fingers and the brass is softer than the chrome and harder than the rust so it doesnt scratch the chrome
home stores like home depot have the little brushes also but they dont have the strength that the ones at Napa do

I have a little more time on my hands since I quit selling on ebay
all that boxing had me insane :roll:
the painted fenders were original to this bike
I think before a certain year of breeze chrome fenders and colored seats were only available on the deluxe versions
