Hi, I am kind of new to bike restoration. I searched, but didn't see much info on how to make the metal pieces of my Schwinn shine again. I'd like to do this to my handlebars, fork braces, sprocket, saddle springs, etc. Are folks chrome dipping? What is the preferred method for these parts?
Thanks, Robby

Ya, if the chrome is to far gone, send it off to get re-chromed or even power coated chrome. Or the cheap way is just to paint and ride.

I use 0000 steel wool & chrome polish, works great with very little elbow grease!

If your going to deal with chrome shops much you need to practice several phrases.
One is...You want how much?....the other is....You have to be kidding ,for that

agreed. Got some rough quotes the other day. Bananas. Elbow grease it is for now anyway.

I found a cheap chroming service! Search up http://www.thechromeshop.com I got quotes from the guy and posted them in a forum. I believe it's this one...they're pretty cheap though

Hey,
I just realized they're right across the river from me! I thought there was something familiar about that name.
