I just got a solid inner tube in a bike I recently bought, I am wondering if any of you out there have used these before? How do they ride compared to the traditional pneumatic tires? Are they worth the headache of installation? I know it was a pain in the but to get off the rim and I foresee about the same to put it back on another bike. I would have ridden it before I pulled it but the rim was bent.

I've always heard they had a bit of rolling resistance and felt a bit like riding on a tire that was a bit low on air. I haven't tried them though.

dont jump a curb with them or let them leave the ground. they cause bent rims. But before I bent a rim, they were fine. The extra weight made it hard to pop a wheelie.

Thanks for the info guys, It would be going on my 26" Hawthorne ballooner anyway so jumping curbs and riding wheelies are out of the question anyway and the bike weighs a ton already so I don't think the weight would be that much more of a factor than it is now. I might try it for a day and see how I like it, If not it can always be swapped back.
