I built a free standing hall rack today.
Based on a rolling hospital support for IV's that was donated to our local bike coop.
I added 2 threadless stems (needed a shim), 2 handle bars and 4 pairs of mtb bar ends.
The base has 5 rubber wheels and is quite heavy duty and stable. Has a waist high basket that is good for gloves or keys with 3 sturdy side loops that can handle back packs or helmets. The vertical rod is height adjustable too. Over all it looks and works great. I'm sure it will sell pretty quick.
