hawthorne should i buy it?

ok i've got my eyes on an old hawthorne its a large mens frame red with a tank and red and white rims its got truss rod forks and its a skip tooth withan extra chain i know with out photos its dificultbut is 100 a good deal? the bike is rideable and probably a 8 out of 10

I think that $100 sounds very fair. You should probably check the tires for a wheel size- if it's a 26 inch, I'd pay $100 based on your description.

It all depends on condition. If the bike is ride - able I would say you couldnt go wrong at $100.... if its in really nice shape it could easily be worth several times that.

I say go for it! would you pay 300 for the chinaman version of bikes nowadays? Or 100 for american vintage which time has proven last longer than its new foreign cousins. I bought a near mint huffy eldorado mens 24in bike for 120 and in no way regret it because i would drown myself if i spend even less than that on a new chinese made bike.
