Get an old cassette and use those screws  Perfect fit :D

Bike cassette, audio cassette, video cassette? My bike came with a sticker head badge, I'm going to have to drill holes, so I have options. I just remembered the old Schwinn Collegiate I have, I could rob it's fasteners.

I have a film canister (remember those?) full of tap-in rivets. If you want to use screws you have to tap the hole out to 4-40, last time I tried I snapped two taps off in the holes. :|

Yes, I do remember those, still use them to hold small things, took a photography class in college, we rolled our own film. Worked at the ECU School of Medicine in the photography department and we had an endless supply of film canisters. The old Fuji canisters were the best, their top sealed on the inside, not outside, you could spray "canned air" into them, seal the top and when the canister warmed and the air expanded it would blow the top off with a loud pop, I would walk into someone's office and put it on their desk behind a picture or tape dispenser and then walk out. 30 seconds or a couple minutes later you'd hear a pop and a scream.

Where would one get these tap in rivets?

I like to think of myself as the King Of Useless Trivia...(I know things that will get me nowhere in life)

I never thought of those cassette screws.

Thanks for the idea!

i used brass nails.. the type for small brass hinges. did it with the fork in, tapped with the hammer.. and it bent the nail nicely... now it wont fall off... but if i do want to remove... simply remove the fork and take a screwdriver or small chisel and tap the back of the nail off.. the head makes for a clean brass rivet look.
