Headlight idea...

Well, I was in target and I spotted these... And of course the first thing that popped into my head was, that would be a cool bike light...

They were in the men's clothing dept, and are packaged as a Christmas gift idea.
The only drawback is that they take 2 D batteries. But maybe they could be reworked/re wired.
But they have 3 LEDs, and are metal, and have cool retro styling.
I'll probably scoop up a few, as they're only $7.99
If anything, you could just use the housing, for a light or something else... Storage compartment? Speakers?

The head part unscrews from the rest of the handle tube.
Also the head comes apart...

FYI the green ring is to protect the glass while in the box, it comes out and the light works still.

My wife has a real vintage one, and it even has the green plastic ring on it!
I was comparing the two, and the head on the real one is a bit smaller...
Real one on left...

I would imagine they will stop carrying them after the holidays...

Thanks October! Went to my local Target and bought four of these. I plan to use them on my bikes and at home. These have that old vintage look with the new guts. I like them!
