Has any body ever drilled the head tube. The frame had a sticker for a badge and I want to mount something else. I think it would be fairly obvious to do but wanted to know if there was anything to lookout for. I figures as long as it does not interfere with the headset bearings or the fork, that I can drill anywhere.

measure twice..drill once..
Just watch out you don't thread something in to deep and have it Rub...

not sure what yur trying to mount but a 2 part Epoxy Glue is
VERY Strong...to give you an example..The Bullet Shifter( like my Grips ) that I built for my 4 Speed in my Wagon...I used that Glue..and lets just say
I'm not that gentle when I am Throwin gears and Burnin up Tires!!
:lol:and It's stuck like $hit to a Blanket and HOLDS great..

Thanks for the idea, Kevin. I wasnt thinkin outside of the box. I have some JB weld I will try to attach the new "tool" that will remain a surprise. Hint: what is needed when it won't twist-off.

you can do it the trouble is finding screws that are short enough as to not hit the steer tube of the fork once installed.

Did the epoxy putty, here are the results. Easy to use, easy to sand. Looks better after sanding.
