Hi , my name is Bob and like I said I'm here in Michigan. I've got grandkids that learned to ride bikes and wanted me to ride with them. I decided I couldn't have just a "bike" I had to build something different. So that's how the idea for the HI-SPEED Special began. I began collecting parts, the frame is an AMF Roadmaster, tank is from a Monark bike, the bars and stem are some antiques I found online and the rest of the parts are new.
I had the frame powder coated and A friend that pinstripes hot rods did the artwork. I've ridden old motorcycles for 40 years so you can see the resemblance to an old boardtrack racer. I had a lot of fun building this and I already have an idea for another one.
I really like creativity I see here in photos of bikes, you are some very talented people. I may have to "borrow" a few ideas I see here.
Anyway here's The HI-SPEED Special.
