help needed

hello guys

i've been a memeber a few days and im really focused to chop up an ol huffy frame and stretch it a few inches

the great builds got me wondering what metal do you guys use when adding tubing to the frames?
other donor bikes or what ...

I have used donor bikes, Sched 40 black pipe, or EMT conduit (1" or larger)

.065 tubing in whatever size i need(i used to use donor bikes but then i noticed i could almost always get fresh steel in a 10' section cheaper than i could buy a donor frame) from the local steel shop

one last question, this is new for me and im wondering bending the "donor bike" metal with a tubing bender or torch
will i sacarfice the strength of the metal by doing so? im a big fella and dont want to have a epic failure while enjoying my bike
