Alright I have a bucket list bike up for grabs, the guy will do a straight up trade for my 1987 Mongoose Decade.

That mid tube on the Silver King looks bent.
But the rest of it seems straight.
Cool trade

You've had that mongoose up for trade for awhile.. I'd look at it as what you have in the decade vs what you'd payout for the silverking. Also, what will you ride? That's an awesome predicament you've got

Do you think that tube is fixable ?

Ya tell me about it, in all honesty I don't really ride the Mongoose it's a little small for me.

The MD is cool but like you said, you don't ride it.
I'd swap em' without batting an eye. Unless you already have a garage full of awesome bike projects you can ride, and there's some sentimental value on that wall hanger Mongoose.

Carl.

I had a '69 Apple Krate for years. I rarely rode it. I finally sold it for way less than I should have because although it was one of my bucket list bikes I didn't make use of it and I don't really miss it. If you want to check the silver king off the bucket list I say go for it. Enjoy that that for a while and get something new. It is just stuff. That is just how I look at "stuff". You can have the same stuff for years and have one experience or change it out once in a while and experience more. No bad choice here.

I'd do the trade, especially if it's something you've wanted for a while and can ride it. I'd like to get the kind of BMX bike my parents couldn't afford when I was a kid, but I grew since then (and also have a lot farther to fall) and a bike I can't ride does me no good and I'd rather someone who could enjoy it get to use it.

Silverking for me.
But I lost all interest in BMX bikes once I wasn't a kid anymore...;)
I had a Redline squareback back in those days. That bike changed hands several times around town, 3 or 4 times just between myself and another kid.
I heard he still has the thing hanging in his garage.
Next time I see him,I'll check and see if i can take it for a ride!
If I do, I will report back :)

If you are short keep the mongoose , if you have out grown it , ? Do the trade .
