O.K. So 2 weeks ago I order and pay for all my needed parts to build my adult sting-ray for TDF.All weekend I bust my tail (and a move) getting the frame, fork, guard, stripped to bare metal, primed and painted.Rounded up all the remaining parts and cleaned/sorted to insure the build would be spot on. So today I get home and check my answering machine, its one of the suppliers calling to let me know my tires are out of stock!Really, your telling me now! So I check my E-mail and find another supplier witing for payment before they can ship, really? I have the paid receipt stored in a file from two weeks ago! So, it looks as though I will have to buy my parts locally if I am to finish for TDF. Thats where you guys vcome in(hopefully). Where can I buy these parts locally? Banana seat, sissy bar, 22" apes, and hopefully a 44 tooth lucky seven sproket. If you dudes know, don't hesitate to sing out! Later & PEACE!!!!! :?

Oh, BTW, took lots of pics so far. As soon as I can find my camera cord I will post the build. Yeah, its been that kinda week! LOL

Most any LBS should be able to order most of the parts. A lot of the bike shops don't stock the items but can get them. Usually the ones who won't order the stuff can but either don't wanna deal with this type of stuff or are just lazy employees. I always ask for the manager if the salesman looks confused or gives me a quick "no".

Been there, done that! I hear ya Chainy, I have had real good luck ordering on line in the past and usually I come out ahead even with shipping! The LBS usually gets these parts from the same places we all order from as well, ifso facto cut out the middle man. Bit me squarely on the butt this time!

IMHO the only problem with cutting out the middle man in this equation is that once your LBS goes out of business you wont have that resource anymore. I usually give my LBS first crack at a part I need, because when they order it there is no shipping charge. If its too expensive or will take too long to get then I order online. But thats just me.
