Hercules rod brake

Have had a hankerin' for a rod brake bike. Found this locally saturday.

Sturmey-Archer but no date code.

Anyone know a source for dating this number?

These grips were on the bike. Are they original?

Nice looking bike
The grips aren't original no.
The rims may not be original either they are more like caliper brake rims. The rod brake rims we had over here were a different profile in cross section. Still a cool ride though

Thanks, I've done some research and apparently I need to find some westwood type rims.
