Have been visiting the site for a few months now but only just joined up. You guys have built a great source of info here and your bike building is top class. 8)
I'm in Australia and like playing around with pre-60s Aussie built roadsters. Roadsters are the cheapest and easiest to find old bikes over here. People throw them out for scrap and bicycle restorers generally don't bother with them because there's so many. They look basically the same as English roadsters with simple diamond frames. The only real difference is that a lot of the English bikes I find have 26" wheels and multi speed rear hubs while most Aussie bikes have 28" wheels and a single speed coaster brake hub.
I don't really chop or fabricate anything as I don't have the skills (or patience!). My bikes just get stripped and rebuilt so everything runs smooth and I try to keep them looking old and worn.
