Hello all
I live in Brisbane Australia and have just bought an Electra Rat Rod, my second electra, my first was a Straight 8. Both that time and this time were from necessity due to losing my licence, oops... anyway the straight 8 had a firction drive motor attached to it and it was great, got me everywhere I wanted to go, and during that time we were in a drought so it pretty much didnt rain for 2 years which is the enemy of the friction drive set up, that was about 6 years ago. The laws have changed here, and now internal combustion engines are illegal on bicycles so I have a 720w electric motor on the rat rod, works great too. I'll post a pic when I learn how to. :p

Hi mate, from Sydney myself.

So electric motors only in bikes up there now? I'm pretty sure the law down here is that as long the bike can't take off under its own power (ie: you have to pedal to get it going) then it's still legally a bicycle down here.
