Hmmmm.........some strange packing!!

I ordered some tires through Amazon, and I think they all came from different places. I got an Electra Fattio-O on Saturday (only took 6 days from Louisville KY to my doorstep in Australia!). It was packed flat in the correct size box. The others, an Electra 26 x 2.125 black, and a pair of cream Electra Vintage Diamonds arrived on Tuesday afternoon, 9 days after they were shipped. Very happy with the shipping time .

So, I get 2 boxes and think, Cool, they've been packed really well, cause one box is huge, and the other is small.......they must've put the pair of tires in the big box, and the single in the smaller box.......wrong!. The large box had one tire in it, and the smaller box contained the pair :? . Naturally the Vintage Diamonds were folded in half and have wire beads, so I had to spend a fair bit of time fixing the kinks in the beads.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the service, price and shipping time, it just seems a little strange as to how they were packed.

I geeze - I sometimes wonder if only chimpanzees are hired to work in bike parts company's shipping depts...
I've gotten things like handlebars that the only packing was it being poked through either end of a large manila envelope (with the shipping info typed on) so the two ends stuck out a foot or so on each side, and some clear tape to attach the envelope, and a pair of 26 x 3" Kenda Flames figure-8 twisted into little circles and mashed into a tiny box. They still look like they kind of "wobble" when riding. :roll:

Ha! I got a fattie-o whitewall for christmas and later my dad showed me the box it came it and it looks to be about the same size as that large box you got! :mrgreen:
