I've been messing around with Sturmey Archer stuff lately and was having a hard time having loosening the ball rings that you have to unscrew and remove to take the hub apart. I needed something better than the hub between 2 wood blocks.
So I built this:
The black rubber grip pad is from a plumbing fitting. Goes on like this.
The two legs clamp in a vice holding the hub casing and allowing me to unscrew the ball ring. But I'll need a ball ring spanner. Look for that how to also!
