So...I wanted wooden fenders for my new Moulton tsr but didn’t want to cough up a couple hundred bucks so I thought why not make my own..did some research on YouTube etc....my buddy gave me some nice North American ash and I had some spare copper pipe to make brackets...and some inlays..

..soaked the wood in my bathtub for 12 hours or so...the fenders were only 1/8inch thick and 1 1/2 inches wide so they bent quite easily..let them dry for a couple of days on the wheel...walnut stained and 4 coats of gloss varathane..attached the brackets to the fenders and got them on the bike ok...fit quite nicely..cost me about $20 so far...plus alot of man hours....I will probably make fender struts as well over the next couple days to pull the rear fender in a bit....will post when done

I don't like most wodden fenders. Most of them are just overpayed pieces of wood, that look weird, flat & generally crude. Now that thing made me think if I don't want a set for myself  Very good job!

Also the whole bike looks super cool.

Yeah..I didn’t mind it too...but I made the struts on the front too short..so as a result it brought the fender too close to the tire..so had to put the bracket on the inside so it would fit...didnt want to spend an hour or so making a new piece..and thought it would look better if the fenders matched

Nice job! I like the struts under better

Those are some elegant wooden fenders you've made for your bike! The copper and brass fender accessories really add a touch of classiness, and do a lot to make the bike they're mounted to really pop! And it only cost you just a little over $20?! That's sweet! Good job!

There is a local guy that made his fenders on his single speed Schwinn road bike out of old pieces of wood.
