I want the story behind the name.

Carl.
Only cuz you don't "Canadian Content" rock, and even if you did, it probably wouldn't make sense.
"Canadian mounted baby, a police force that works
Red and black, that's their color scheme
Get their man, in the end"
The Red and the Black
Blue Oyster Cult

For the past several builds, I’ve been naming my bikes after lyrics of songs that were recorded the same year as the bike was built. So, this one is taken from Blue Oyster Cult’s “The Red and the Black,” which is probably my favorite song by them. Ironically, however, the first time I heard it was a live cover from the band fIREHOSE. I still like the cover better, but the BOC original is great just the same.

Impressive song lyric recognition skills.
I’m pretty sure Carl rocks though. He makes some pretty cool guitars.

Wrong. I know that album well.
Hot Rails to Hells is my favorite tune on that album.
I named a build a while ago "Tyranny and Mutation"
But I didn't catch that lyric either I'm just a guitar player...lol
I also saw them opening for Black Sabbath in the 70's...

Carl.

@MattiThundrrr I also do Canadian Content...
One of my favorite builds is called Little Neutrino,
and I've named other bikes after musical ideas, Rock n' Rollfast, Headbanger and Dead Metal
I would also counter Klaatu as more Canadian than BOC as I believe some of the members of Blue Oyster Cult are from the US.

Yeah, I was hesitant to call the Cult Canadian content, but the song is about mounties and dog sleds and ice skating. Or something. So I figured it was Canadian as Pierre Breton and his lady in a canoe. Sorry for doubting your rock cred, it's difficult to tell how much impact our artists have down there.

Is that a 20" or 24" frame? A 24" Speedster BMX cruiser is high on my list of must-builds. I've seen pictures of one or two done that way and they're way cool.

It’s a 26” bike, but those frames are about an inch shorter than the Schwinn middleweights.

Oops, it would appear that somehow I made them Canadian, which indeed they are not. I started by speaking to the content of the song, which is so North of the border that it made me feel like they were one of us.

Sigh, I guess we can't all be Rush, eh?

I didn’t say anything, because I’ve been known to be wrong here and there, but I remember hearing that BOC was the American answer to Sabbath.
