How do I overhaul these pedals?

These cheap steel rat-trap pedals don't have a removable bearing cap, and it doesn't look like they intended for them to be disassembled. Has anyone had any luck pulling them apart to clean & grease the bearings?

I have "rehabed" stamped pedals, but you can't do much, they'll still be loose. I'll never make the effort again unless they're something really special, old and rare. If you really feel like trying, you flatten the tabs with vice-grips so they'll slide out of the slots. Good luck getting the pieces to stay in order while you reassemble them, it's very aggravating. ( hint: Thick grease to keep the balls in the race. GOOD LUCK!! :roll: :lol: )

On something like this, I would just lube them with 50W motor oil and be done with it.
