how do u prep a sissy bar to be painted?

I've sanded it, hit it with a wire wheel...it only gets smoother...primer was easily chipped off

Medium/coarse emory cloth should do it.

Dont forget to use a degreaser right before painting, I like to use carburator cleaner.
