thx for your time

Cool frame...I'm in the process of restoring a similar bike.

The frame and forks are probably worth $50 - $100 from what I've seen on Ebay lately.

Looks like an 83 Predator CR MO Free.

im pretty sure its a "predator competition", at least thats what my buddies is exactly like it, i know he tried to track decals down and they are impossible to get, but i dont think the bike itself isnt all that hard to find. id agree with RR on the $

Here's what a "Competition" looks like...it's what I have...no gusset.

The Competition model had the Maxy Cross cranks and was one step below the Sting.

The repop decals can be purchased from a guy named Louis ([email protected]) on the BMX Museum for $22.

i dont know my bmx's very well but i can see the gusset lol

Steve, did you see this Predator YO! last week?

I used to have a Yo! Stem on my childhood BMX, I had stripped my old stem and ordered "a gooseneck" from LBS when i got there she had gotten 2 in-both Yo!'s, one black with silver lettering and one white with teal lettering (heh, eighties).
She had the white one in the case and the local bike riding bullies were in there about to buy it when she pulls the black one from behind the counter for me.
The Bullies REALLY liked the black stem, so to save face at school the next day (literally, always been a pacifist) I told them they could have the black one and went home with the white one. and slapped it on my chrome no-name bmx with red lester mags. Black would have been MUCH better.

Gosh, id like to get my hands on a Black Yo! stem... if for nothing more than sentimental reasons...

This post has nothing too do with the orginal post... just my AOADD kicking in... :D

It can get confusing because they made 4 or 5 versions of Predators that all shared a similar decal design. It comes down to frame design and components. I had to do some researching to figure out the differences between the models. Some have gussets, some have straight top and down tubes, some have flared top and down tubes. The Maxy Cross cranks and the flared tubes on my bike are what make it a Competition model.

Here are the Schwinn BMX catalogs...
