something you know you're going to scavenge and/or cut up.

i know the answer won't be cut and dry (like the difference bettween vintage stuff and run of the mill walmart bikes, how bad you need it, etc.), but just throwing it out there anyway

two of my projects started with a particular mountain bike that has a swingarm shape i like. one bike i had already and had paid a fairly normal price for quite a few years back, then cut up later. the second one i knew i was going to cut up when i saw it, but i only paid about $15 for it.

just came across one today for about $80. i'm liable to buy it if it hangs around long enough and i come up with the cash (already got an idea festering in my head for it), but it's way more than i would normaly pay for a parts bike.

what say ye good people?

Ideally I'd say free. If its worth money, then its probably nicer than I'd want to part out/cut up/

I have a hard time passing a cheap bike with parts I can use, if the tires hold air, thats two tubes, worth 8 bucks, thats what I would pay for new,and tires ,seat excetera, I don't usually pay more than $20 at the most.
