how to install self made tank/wood panel

I'm curious how you guys install your self made tanks and/or wooden panels to your frames.
I want to cut out a piece of wood and fit it into the tank section of my Micargi frame

Do you weld on bolts and use nuts to install it?

There are many ways. the easiest is to use some straps to wrap around the frame and then bolt to the panel. Some weld tabs to the frame and the bolt a panel to each side. My tank is very tight and is just sort of pressed in there. use your imagination. there is no wrong way. :wink:

For the "strapless" look maybe you could run some screws with some washer type things from under the cantilever bars up in to the bottom of the tank.

Never heard of anyone doing it, but what about using silicone? It wouldn't hurt the frame and it would be easily removable. Unless your out jumping buses, it would probably stay in pretty good.

You might consider going to a craft store and get some heavy duty velcro strips with adheasive backing?

On mine I've cut a cardboard outline,traced it to sheet metal,marked where to rivet it on both the frame and the sheet metal,sanded it clean and am in the process of priming it and mounting it. Just a different way of doing it.Hope that helps.

ebay has chrome pull tie tabs that would work great!
