Hub Shiners

I tried out a set of hub shiners on my Schwinn. They made a lot of noise as the reflectors bounced against the spokes. That can't be good for the spokes and is just plain annoying as the plinking noise is non-stop. I think I'll put a splotch of glue under each one to make them spin with the wheels.

Anyone tried anything else with hub shiners? The ones I have match the paint job on my bike, red and tan, and look pretty cool.

I made mine from plaid cloth, some snaps, and a small hunk of lead for weight.

I usually play a game with mine, trying to keep it centered on the hub to keep it quiet. I really don't think it hurts the spokes at all.
