Then this:

Removed all decals, had to cut frozen stem off, switched forks

To this...in progress:

Trying to build on the cheap.....so far have used everything from the stash. Have to buy a freewheel and some apes to continue. Have a 24 x 1.75 on the front now, with a 24 x 3 rear. I'm thinking I need to go to a 26 x 1.75 for the front to get the right "rake".

i dont think you need apes. on most occasions, of course, but this one looks good w/o em. looks like some kinda bobber thing goin on there. i say get a old leather seat(brooks, somethin old and cool:D) and put it on a bent seatpost to make you sit further back. maybe a bobbed(shortened) fender in the back

Okay...no apes!
Here's "Huffy Rat" with a 26" wheel and shorty fender insted of the 24" with no fender....and I added a little "color" with the new name. Forgot to pick up the rear freewheel or I'd be ridin' the "Rat" today!

24" front wheel, no fender, no chainguard:

Anything left out overnight in the coastal areas of Florida rusts FAST! The combo of humidity & the salt air play heck with chrome here. Gotta keep 'em inside to keep 'em nice. Trust me, I've gone through a bunch of brass wire wheels removing all the wonderful ferrous oxide.
