Got this frame,3 piece crank, and forks gifted to me the other day. I think I have figured out it's 83-84 hutch from what I've read. Only thing I haven't figured out is the model. Looks like chrome under some blue powdercoat the guy who gave it said his son powdercoated it. But it flaked off with my thumbnail where there was chips.the serial number is on inside of dropout 1233993. hutch stamped on brake bridge with drilled hole. Any help identifying appreciated. Here is a few pics.

Are you going to build it or sell?

My plan is to build it but might take a little while. I would like to find the parts it's missing if affordable but might have to just find some appropriate parts that would have be used then. Looked for something's but prices for just parts ๐Ÿ˜จ

You could build it with any parts as Pro Racers were sold frame/fork only.

You can also build it as a Pro Star, same frame, as they were Hutch's completes. That would be an expensive build as an original set of aerospeed cranks are several thousand dollars by themselves.

Between Thursday and Friday after work I got the frame stripped of the paint or powder coating but it left a residue.

Got that cleaned off with some 0000 steel wool and some chrome polish and rust remover stuff was scratched from sanding for paint and dull still. Saturday I broke out the drill with a buffing wheel and buffing compound and went to work.
Bottom tube before buffing and top tube after

It still has scratches but has turned out a lot better than I thought it would.

Next up was the forks steel wool and the polish rust remover no powder coating just rust and in need of cleaning.

Also cleaned up nicer than I thought they would after some buffing too.

After that I had to find a head set so I could mount the tires and fork to get a how they are going to look.

Thought I had some pedals but all I have is 1/2 inch cranks on here use 9/16. Need to get seat seat post and clamp, handle bars head unit, chain and probably a couple things not thinking of.

I tried to swap sides around where the side with the stop thing(sorry not sure of name first 3 piece crank I have messed with) and got it closer but still not lined up.

Not sure which way this is supposed to be should have taken pictures. Tried goggle it but haven't seen this one mostly with ball bearings being converted. Any help appreciated.

Haven't posted anything here lately been busy with the build off bike. I got this handle bar from @Captain Awesome the other day and I had a pair of rant nsixty on the hutch but thought these would look better matching the frame chrome.

The grips were to long with the brake handle so I changed those for some other ones that was mostly black with red ends so that made me want to change the seat so I got this one in a package deal and decided to see what it looked like.

Very nice ๐Ÿ‘

I like that you kept the original Wald sticker intact. Wish it was in as good of shape as the rest of the bars
