So here's my delemma - I have this wald rat trap front rack. I want to make some truss rods for my forks because they look cool. I could chop up this rack but I feel bad sacrificeing a perfectly good useful rack.
Only thing wrong with it is that it's crusty.
Do I chop it?
Do I sell it and maybe it will be used again for its intended purpose?
Do I keep it, never use it and wonder why the heck I got it in the first place?

I seems a shame to butcher the thing.
I'm weird about stuff like that. Once a kid used it to carry his books. It's almost like I'm disrespecting that kid by chopping up the rack
On the other hand. Truss forks are wicked bad!
You can see how I'm torn.
Or is it just me?

Could always strap a milk crate to it for beer runs.
Or try to trade it for truss rods.

I guess it depends on the overall look for the finished bike.

I know this feeling well!
Something cool and perfectly usable but it is not what you want and could easily be made in to what you want...

I usually end up cutting it up and making exactly what I want...
Sometimes I regret it, most times I don't.

Luke.
